Catherine Barbercheck http://www.cuinthemorning.com For thirty years, Catherine has been actively involved in the practice of law in Champaign County, Illinois. She has a successful history of handling clients in both state and federal courts and within a broad spectrum of the law. Catherine is continually energized by the unique client challenges that come her way and she strives to help clients find practical solutions to their legal, business, and personal problems. As a trained mediator, she aspires to be known for fairness and impartiality.
Upon graduation from law school in 1978, Catherine joined the firm of Lawrence E. Johnson & Associates, PC as an associate attorney until being named a Co-Owner and Managing Partner in 1985. Upon the death of Mr. Johnson in December 2005, she became Principal Owner and Managing Partner until April 2007 at which time the firm became Barbercheck & Associates, PC.
With local roots in Champaign County, Catherine understands and appreciates the unique needs of individuals, families, and small business owners in the local and surrounding area. She is a proponent of giving back to the community through activity in local civic programs as well as dedicated participation in professional organizations. Her contributions of both time and talent to community and organizations speak for themselves.
Catherine is a life long resident of Champaign. She graduated from Champaign Central High School and received her BS in Journalism from Northern Illinois University. She received her law degree from Lewis University College of Law (now Northern Illinois University) before returning to the Champaign-Urbana area to enter the practice.
When she is not working with her clients or involved in community or professional activities, she enjoys spending time with her two cats, reading, and gardening. |
